LAS VEGAS – Jon Jones was at the height of training for his UFC 235 title defense when a pair of drug tests came back positive for the M3 metabolite that’s “pulsed” in his system for 19 months. “Typically, a fighter is getting ready for a fight will gradually increase that intensity, peak, and then maybe a couple weeks out, taper off so they’re fresh for the fight,” UFC vice president of Athlete Health and Performance Jeff Novitzky told reporters Thursday after the Nevada State Athletic Commission released the latest round of drug test results for Jones (23-1 MMA, 17-1 UFC).
