Gillian Robertson only landed a few strikes over a round and a half against Veronica Macedo , but she stayed with her game plan till it paid off. Robertson (6-3 MMA, 3-1 UFC) kept after Macedo (5-3-1 MMA, 0-3-1 UFC) on the canvas until she quickly and deftly took Macedo’s back, then sank in a rear-naked choke to force the tap at the 3:27 mark of the middle round. The women’s flyweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC on ESPN+ 3 event at O2 arena in Prague, Czech Republic. It aired on ESPN 2 ahead of the main card on ESPN+. Robertson worked for an early takedown and got it, then worked her way to full mount against Macedo. But she was high up in the position and Macedo was able to push her off to get out of immediate danger
