Jon Jones stopped Alexander Gustafsson in the third round to win a UFC light heavyweight title for the third time in his career. Despite a 15-month anti-doping suspension, Jones (23-1 MMA, 17-1 UFC) didn’t miss a beat outstriking Gustafsson (18-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) before forcing a ground and pound TKO in the third round. After a tumultuous week that saw the event moved from Las Vegas to California after an abnormal Jones drug test result, Jones got the stoppage at the 2:02 mark of the third round of the fighters’ rematch. The light heavyweight title bout was the main event of today’s UFC 232 show at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
