After an initial report of the fight, UFC President Dana White said as recently as this month that, according to his knowledge, Diaz (26-9 MMA, 7-6 UFC) would be returning from his more than four-year layoff to fight Masvidal (32-12 MMA, 9-6 UFC) at March’s UFC 235 event.
