SAO PAULO – The day the UFC offered a date for his octagon debut, Andre Ewell nearly passed on the opportunity. At that point, Ewell (13-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) didn’t know he would be facing former bantamweight champion Renan Barao (34-6 MMA, 9-5 UFC) – a pretty big ask for his first time in the industry-leading promotion. The opponent wasn’t Ewell’s concern.
