Junior Dos Santos was preparing for a meeting with Francis Ngannou, looking to bounce back from a loss to UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic, when he heard that teammate Marcos Rogerio de Lima had been flagged by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). “A friend of ours mentioned that it was a tainted supplement,” Dos Santos told MMAjunkie. “And I remember I made a comment like, ‘Was it, really? Because if he hadn’t taken anything, he wouldn’t have been caught.’” Dos Santos would go on to regret the comment and apologize to his American Top Team stablemate. After all, not long after that, he was the one fighting to show that he was not a cheater.
