Former UFC bantamweight Carls John de Tomas has accepted a one-year suspension from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency and California State Athletic Commission in connection with his canceled bout at UFC Fight Night 123. The UFC’s anti-doping partner today confirmed Tomas’ suspension, which triggered his release from the promotion this past December. According to USADA, Tomas (8-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) tested positive for furosemide, a drug used to treat blood pressure that’s banned year round under the category of diuretics and masking agents.
