“The Assassin Baby” is making waves in the UFC’s flyweight division. At this past weekend’s UFC Fight Night 108 event, Brandon Moreno (14-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) struggled early against veteran Dustin Ortiz (16-7 MMA, 5-5 UFC) but showed resiliency when he scored a second-round knockdown and then choked out his opponent for an emotional victory . Afterward, the 23-year-old Mexican import insisted he will someday be a UFC champion . He’s still a few wins away from getting a shot at top pound-for-pound fighter Demetrious Johnson, but in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA flyweight rankings, Moreno is now sitting at No. 10 and within striking distance of the top fighters in the division. Check out the changes at 125 pounds, as well as in all weight classes, following this past weekend’s action.
