After increasing his winning streak to three with a unanimous decision in a “Fight of the Year” battle against then-undefeated Dooho Choi, Swanson (24-7 MMA, 9-3 UFC) seemed poised to take on competition further up the title line. Instead, he got Lobov (13-12-1 MMA, 2-2 UFC) – who, in spite of coming off an important win over Teruto Ishihara, still sits away from any official rankings with a modest 2-2 UFC record – and just one fight over .500 overall.
