Bellator officials today announced that Chris Fields has been forced out of this weekend’s Bellator 173 event, and promotional newcomer Vladimir Filipovic (8-2 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) has stepped in to face Liam McGeary (11-1 MMA, 8-1 BMMA). Bellator 173 takes place Friday at SSE Arena Belfast in Northern Ireland. The night’s main card airs on Spike via tape delay in the U.S. McGeary, a 34-year-old English fighter who’s No. 9 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA light heavyweight rankings , won his first 11 pro bouts – 10 via stoppage – before ceding his title to current champ Phil Davis
