As impressive as he looked, Vannata (9-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) ultimately lost, caving to a second-round submission at UFC Fight Night 91’s co-headliner. The story, however, was different at this Saturday’s UFC 206, when he demolished John Makdessi (14-6 MMA, 7-6 UFC)  with a  “Knockout of the Year” candidate  in the first round. Now two big displays into his UFC career, Vannata hopes to have sent a message. “Not just (to) the rest of the division, but the entire world,” Vannata said
