Carmouche won praise as a tough challenge for the then-champ despite coming up short . But for her, there’s another piece of history she wants to capture as one of the first female fighters to compete inside Madison Square Garden in New York. One of the first two, to be exact. Carmouche (10-5 MMA, 2-3 UFC), whose family is from New York, gets the show started on Saturday when she fights Katlyn Chookagian (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) on the UFC Fight Pass-streamed prelims of UFC 205, which precede the FS1 prelims and pay-per-view main card. “I just want ‘Fight of the Night’ – that’s the hope,” Carmouche told MMAjunkie.
