On Saturday, Lina Lansberg became the latest casualty on Cristiane Justino ’s path of destruction. While she did last longer than a lot of the previous competition, returning after a one-sided beating in the first round of their UFC Fight Night 95 headlining 140-pound scrap, Lansberg (6-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) was still easy prey to Justino’s (17-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) relentless aggression before a stoppage was called at the 2:29 mark of the second frame. Though battered and bruised, Lansberg kept her post-fight composure, praising ‘Cyborg’ in an octagon interview and later showing up at the post-fight press conference. And today, less than three days after the scrap, Lansberg showed on an Instagram post that she is still not about to make excuses. Next to a picture of herself getting tagged by one of Justino’s powerful shots, Lansberg said that, though previously aware of her opponent’s “weight and skill level,” she had never felt punches with such “insane power” in any of her 85 muay Thai bouts, nor her previous seven MMA appearances. Still, Lansberg said she would like another stab at the “phenomenal” Invicta FC featherweight champ in the future.
