BRASILIA, Brazil – Minutes into the opening round, Rani Yahya looked to be on the verge of putting Michinori Tanaka to sleep with an arm-triangle choke. Instead, he found himself in a grueling three-round battle against an opponent who simply wouldn’t quit, forcing Yahya (23-8 MMA, 8-2 UFC) to settle for a unanimous decision victory over a resilient, but overmatched Tanaka (11-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC). The bantamweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 95 event at Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in the Brazilian capital of Brasilia. It aired on FS1 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on FS1.
