Undefeated bantamweight prospect Eli Tamez didn’t grow up fighting. But once he started, he found out he was a bit of a natural. “I actually had some friends that just trained in the garage, and they all fought as amateurs,” Tamez told MMAjunkie. “I started training with them, and I started getting good. “I trained for like three months, and one of the guys was like, ‘Let’s find you a fight.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, that would be cool – be a fighter and tell everybody that I fight.’ Then I went out and won by knockout in like a minute and 40 seconds, and I was just hooked after that.” He did, however, grow up cutting hair. “I started cutting hair when I was 13,” Tamez said.
