LAS VEGAS – Jim Miller didn’t need long to get Takanori Gomi to the mat, and once there Miller overwhelmed his man with constant controlled aggression. The result was an early TKO finish for Miller (26-8 MMA, 15-7 UFC) who took the back of Gomi (35-12 MMA, 4-7 UFC) and hammered away with strikes until referee Mark Smith called it off at the 2:18 mark of Round 1. The lightweight bout opened up the preliminary card of today’s UFC 200 event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass ahead of additional prelims on FOX Sports 1 and a main card on pay-per-view. Miller caught the strike with his left and fired off a counter punch with his right, knocking Gomi down and forcing him to expose his back as he scrambled in an effort to get up.
