In the main event, Eddie Alvarez (28-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) became the new UFC lightweight champion when he brutalized Rafael dos Anjos (25-8 MMA, 14-6 UFC) via a first-round TKO to take the belt at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. Alvarez’s title-winning victory concluded a UFC Fight Pass-stream event that saw strong winning performances from Derrick Lewis (16-4 MMA, 7-2 UFC), Alan Jouban (14-4 MMA, 5-2 UFC) and Joseph Duffy (15-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC).
