That’s the word from a UFC official and a team rep, who both spoke to MMAjunkie this morning. Letourneau (8-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC), a former UFC strawweight title challenger, was taken to a local hospital following her third-round TKO defeat via body kick and punches to fellow flyweight Joanne Calderwood (11-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) on Saturday. The bout, which opened the FOX Sports 1-televised main card at The Arena at TD Place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, was at times uncomfortable to watch. The final sequence was especially tough; Letourneau took a kick to the midsection and immediately hunched over in pain and turned her back to Calderwood.
