Lucas Martins still isn’t sure why he’s no longer fighting for the UFC, but regardless of the reason, he stills plans to work his way to the octagon following a baffling post-victory pink slip. This past month at UFC Fight Night 86, Martins (16-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) picked up a split-decision win over fellow featherweight Robert Whiteford (12-4 MMA, 2-3 UFC). The April 10 victory moved 27-year-old Martins to a respectable 4-3 in the UFC, where his losses have come to no slouches (Edson Barboza, Darren Elkins and Mirsad Bektic). Additionally, despite the judges being split, every major media outlet scored the UFC Fight Night 86 bout for Martins, according to MMADecisions.com .
