CURITIBA, Brazil – Renato Moicano survived a nasty cut over his left eye and an aggressive attack from Zubaira Tukhugov , and his steady work rate paid off in the end. After three close rounds Moicano (10-0-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) narrowly edged out Tukhugov (18-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) on the scorecards, taking the split-decision victory with scores of 28-29, 29-28, and 29-28. The featherweight bout opened up the preliminary card of today’s UFC 198 event at Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass ahead of additional prelims on FOX Sports 1 and a main card on pay-per-view. While he stalked Moicano, throwing seemingly every strike with the intention to end the fight, he didn’t land as consistently or as cleanly as Moicano did
