For UFC 197’s losing athletes, however, they can take solace in the fact they were beaten by top-tier competition on Saturday’s pay-per-view main card at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. In the main event, Jon Jones (22-1 MMA, 16-1 UFC) again displayed his dominance when he pitched a shutout on the scorecards to deny Ovince Saint Preux (19-8 MMA, 7-3 UFC) the interim UFC light-heavyweight championship. Henry Cejudo (10-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) also had his title aspirations squashed when Demetrious Johnson (24-2-1 MMA, 12-1-1 UFC) stopped him with strikes in the first round of the flyweight-title co-headliner. Anthony Pettis (18-5 MMA, 5-4 UFC), Rafael Natal (22-6-1 MMA, 9-5-1 UFC) and Andre Fili (15-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC) also failed to have their hands raised, but it wasn’t for a lack of trying
