And it had been more than four years since he fought for a major promotion. With three losses in his previous four fights – to Melvin Manhoef, Jordan Mein and Nick Diaz, who obviously are no slouches – most would be forgiven if they assumed “Cyborg” was done with fighting. But then, almost out of nowhere, there he was back in good form, dominating Artenas Young in the Legacy FC 50 main event. (Check out the highlights from that unanimous decision win above.) And that got him a call to head back to the majors. On Friday at Bellator 153, which takes place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., with a main card on Spike following prelims on MMAjunkie, Santos (20-16 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) will make his promotional debut against the tough Brennan Ward (13-3 MMA, 8-3 BMMA) in front of Ward’s home crowd.
