Ben Askren Ben Askren did what he does best at ONE Championship 41. He took his opponent to the ground battered him with strikes until time expired and his record remained perfect. Askren (15-0) was meant to defend his ONE Championship welterweight belt against Nikolay Aleksakhin (17-4) in Friday’s headliner. Unfortunately, Aleksakhin came in overweight and the matchup at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines, was turned into a non-title. The bout still remained scheduled for five rounds, though, and although Askren had a few worrisome moments, he gave Aleksakhin a championship-caliber beating, dragging it out for all 25 minutes.
