Filed under: News , UFC , Videos The recent death of Portuguese fighter Joao Carvalho hit close to home for UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor . Carvalho (1-2), 28, suffered head injuries during a third-round TKO loss to Irish welterweight Charlie Ward, one of McGregor’s teammates, at a Total Extreme Fighting event April 9 at National Stadium in Dublin. McGregor was cageside supporting Ward at the fight, and today posted a message on his official Facebook page sending his condolences to Carvalho’s family in the wake of his death.
