Prior to a submission loss earlier this month at Invicta FC 16, Andrea Lee tested positive for a banned diuretic and has been temporarily suspended. Invicta FC announced the news Thursday night in the form of a statement of the fighter’s positive test after Lee’s (4-2) loss to Sarah D’Alelio (9-6) in Las Vegas, which was overseen by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. “On Thursday, Invicta Fighting Championships was notified by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) that flyweight fighter Andrea Lee tested positive for the presence of prohibited diuretics in her pre-fight drug test at Invicta FC 16,” the statement read. “As a result of the positive test, Lee’s license has been temporarily suspended by NAC with a disciplinary hearing forthcoming. Invicta FC will fully cooperate with the NAC on the matter and supports Lee’s right to due process.
