In a clash of highly regarded lightweight prospects, Matthews (10-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) tapped out Johnny Case (22-5 MMA, 4-1 UFC) via third-round rear-naked choke . Afterward, he learned he also picked up a $50,000 “Fight of the Night” bonus for his efforts. Matthews, who joined the UFC after a stint on “The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Canada vs. Australia” in 2014, has been one of the 155-pound division’s most promising fighters, but when it came to bonuses, his stoppage wins over the likes of Dashon Johnson, Vagner Rocha and Akbarh Arreola weren’t deemed bonus-worthy
