Holly Holm captured the women’s bantamweight title at UFC 193 in November when she knocked out longtime champion Ronda Rousey at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. Plans for an immediate rematch were set into motion, but Holm didn’t want to sit out waiting for Rousey to recover and finish film projects. She wanted to stay active, and agreed to face perennial contender Miesha Tate in the UFC 196 co-main event.
