With a seven-fight winning streak to his credit (the longest at 135 pounds), Assuncao (23-4 MMA, 7-1 UFC) has a strong case to challenge newly crowned titleholder Dominick Cruz (21-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC), who won the strap from T.J. Dillashaw (12-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 81 this past weekend.
