The 28-year-old Font (11-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC), who faces UFC newcomer and former training partner Joey Gomez (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) on Sunday at UFC Fight Night 81, might have won a “Fight of the Night” bonus two years ago with his debut performance against George Roop . But the way he sees it, the result was no great surprise. “He was a fighter on his way out,” Font told MMAjunkie at an open workout in support of his UFC Fight Pass-streamed fight at Sunday’s event at Boston’s TD Garden.
