Michael McDonald LAS VEGAS – It wasn’t pretty, but Michael McDonald ’s first fight in more than two years went his way with a left-field submission of Masanori Kanehara at UFC 195. The bantamweight bout closed out the preliminary card of today’s UFC 195 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on pay-per-view. The first punch McDonald (17-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) threw landed hard, leading to Kanehara (25-13-5 MMA, 1-2 UFC) to attempt a takedown moments later, but McDonald caught the neck and looked to lock up a guillotine choke with a body triangle. Kanehara rode out the bad position and settled in to McDonald’s guard once the hold was loosened. Kanehara advanced to full mount as McDonald continued to try to attack the neck
