Ronda Rousey Type Ronda Rousey ’s name into a search engine and right now and there’s no telling what the Internet will spit out at you. For instance, it might show you a video of the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion walking through an airport with a pillow covering her face as “reporters” hound her like hyenas waiting for their chance to get in on a fresh kill. Or it might show you tweets from at least two different porn companies , both of whom came up with almost the exact same double entendre in order to mock Rousey while also aggressively sexualizing her. Then there are the memes , the music videos , the stuff people do with Photoshop, wi-fi, and too much time on their hands . Taken in isolation, it seems like harmless (even if mean-spirited) fun. Sure, it comes at the expense of someone who just suffered a very public, very painful professional failure against Holly Holm at UFC 193, but that someone also happens to be a person who’s been known to revel in other people’s misery from time to time, so maybe it all evens out, right?
