Late Thursday night, Butch Carroll started a GoFundMe page to help Diaz pay a $165,000 fine that represented 33 percent of a $500,000 “show” purse he received to fight Anderson Silva at UFC 183. A post-fight drug test revealed marijuana metabolites, his third such offense while fighting in Nevada. There’s no word on whether donations will go to cover court costs imposed on Diaz by the NSAC. “In the event his fine is dropped or reduced the unused funds will be donated to charity,” Carroll, of Salinas, Calif., wrote. As of Friday morning, no donations had been made.
