Johnson (20-5 MMA, 11-5 UFC), who lost a bid for the vacant belt in May to champ Daniel Cormier, would also get a little bit of payback – Bader’s (20-4 MMA, 13-4 UFC) recent win at this month’s UFC 192 came over a longtime teammate, ex-champ Rashad Evans (19-4-1 MMA, 14-4-1 UFC). The only problem? Bader still insists on a title shot, as he did after his key win . With five straight victories, “The Ultimate Fighter 8” winner is one of the division’s hottest commodities, save for ex-champ Jon Jones, whose octagon return was cleared when he avoided jail time in connection with a hit-and-run in April. Bader told Ariel Helwani on “UFC Tonight” that he’ll wait to see whether Jones gets the first crack at his former opponent and rival Cormier, as the promotion has promised.
