Both men expect the other to win their respective fights at UFC 192, something that would establish Evans as a solid contender for Cormier’s championship. Cormier (16-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) defends his belt against Alexander Gustafsson (16-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) in the main event of the event, which takes place Saturday at Houston’s Toyota Center. Evans (19-3-1 MMA, 14-3-1 UFC) will square off with Ryan Bader (19-4 MMA, 12-4 UFC) on the main card. The two have grown friendly over their time working as analysts for Fox Sports’ UFC coverage and Cormier says he doesn’t anticipate that changing, but it won’t hold him back from trying to wreck the former light heavyweight champion.
