For his first fight of the year against Collin Reuter at Destiny MMA in April, welterweight prospect Zane Kamaka wasted no time in picking up his third win in a row. “(Reuter) had a good record and a lot of power, so I trained really hard for that fight,” Kamaka told MMAWeekly.com. “He threw a kick and I caught it and kind of swept him down and took his back and got the rear naked choke in the first round.” Having finished the majority of his nine wins with strikes, to pick up a win by submission showed Kamaka that the work he’s been putting into his transitions has paid off. ”I always have the stand-up, and I can do jiu-jitsu and wrestle straight, but my coach is helping me mix them up and put everything together,” said Kamaka.
