When deciding to turn pro this year in MMA, former Nebraska wrestling standout James Nakashima knew it was going to be a challenge, but he had no idea he’d been in this tough a go. In three fights so far this year, Nakashima has faced far more experienced opposition, and has managed to come out with unanimous decision victories in all of them. “It’s been a really tough year,” Nakashima told MMAWeekly.com. “I didn’t anticipating against opponents this difficult this quickly. “I guess I’m used to seeing it the other way with opponents stacking up their record against not high quality opponents before going up against tougher opponents. I’m glad I’ve been pushed this way and I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Even though Nakashima has a strong wrestling background, he’s made a concerted effort over this past year to improve in other areas of the fight game and become as complete as possible
