After witnessing Jedrzejczyk’s (10-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) destruction of Jessica Penne at UFC Fight Night 69, the massively lopsided odds raised questions about whether challenger Valerie Letourneau (8-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) belongs in the octagon with the strawweight champion at UFC 193. Jedrzejczyk was originally expected to meet Claudia Gadelha in a rematch of their highly competitive UFC on FOX 13 bout, which Jedrzejczyk won via split decision in December. Although the Polish fighter won that original contest (and later won the belt), 12 of 14 media outlets scored the fight for Gadelha (via MMADecisions.com ).
