The recent announcement of “KHK MMA Team” may seem like a flash in the pan for some, but a closer look at who is behind the team may convince doubters. KHK MMA Team is the vision of Bahrainian Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, an avid MMA fan who also just so happens to train daily with the squad. While his resources may seem endless, it’s the assembly of coaches, professionals and amateurs whom he has brought who could ensure KHK MMA Team makes its mark in the sport. From UFC contenders Khabib Nurmagomedov and Frankie Edgar to esteemed coaches Renzo Gracie , John Kavanaugh and Bob Schirmer, as well as UFC pioneer (turned strength and conditioning coach) Pete Williams, the foundation has been set. MMAjunkie caught up with these men to speak about KHK. Check out the video above.
