Donavon Frelow When Donavon Frelow was about 12, he had a Sega Dreamcast. One of the games he and his younger brother liked to play, he said, was an MMA game featuring fighters from PRIDE Fighting Championships. His favorite? Wanderlei Silva. So it was amazing to him, more than 10 years later and after a move from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, when he found himself sitting at a gym where Silva was supposed to have trained. “When I heard about it,” Frelow told MMAjunkie about the gym, “I was like a kid who found out there was Disneyland in Vegas.” The former star football player was even more astonished when someone came to sit next to him as he watched others go through drills and training in his first time at the gym.
