Clifford Starks Mike Kyle has a new opponent for Saturday’s WSOF 22 event following the removal of Thiago Silva from the card. Officials today announced Silva (16-4) was removed “due to (a) previous suspension,” and Clifford Starks (11-2) has stepped in to fight fellow light heavyweight Kyle (21-12-1). “We hope that Thiago will take the steps necessary to be in compliance with the state athletic commission so that he can make a quick return to action,” WSOF President Ray Sefo stated. “In the meantime, we appreciate Clifford Starks’ willingness to take the fight against Mike Kyle on just a few days’ notice, and look forward to having him compete for us again after putting on a great show in the WSOF cage in March.” WSOF 22 takes place at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The main card, including a pair of title fights with champs Rousimar Palhares and Marlon Moraes, airs on NBCSN following prelims on MMAjunkie.
