James Krause CHICAGO – James Krause didn’t need Daron Cruickshank to leave him too many openings in the first minute of their lightweight bout. In fact, Krause (22-7 MMA, 3-3 UFC) only needed one, and he made the most of it, sweeping Cruickshank (16-7 MMA, 6-5 UFC) to the floor before quickly taking his back and locking in the choke to secure the submission victory at the 1:27 mark of Round 1. The lightweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC on FOX 16 event at United Center in Chicago. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass ahead of additional prelims and a main card on FOX. The footsweep itself was a thing a beauty. Krause set it up out of the clinch, using it to toss Cruickshank effortlessly to the floor, then pouncing before he had a chance to recover
