He wanted to fight Al Iaquinta (12-3-1 MMA, 7-2 UFC). Unfortunately, the former featherweight is still waiting for his next fight. After beating Yancy Medeiros (11-3 MMA, 2-3 UFC) at this past month’s UFC Fight Night 68 in his second lightweight bout, Poirier (18-4 MMA, 10-3 UFC) planned for some rest and relaxation. But he had a change of heart about the next step of his career. “Before the fight, I was like, I’m going to go out there and have a great performance, and then I’m going to take some time off and enjoy this – it’s two fights back to back,” he told MMAjunkie
