Fabricio Werdum The UFC heavyweight title has changed hands more than any other belt in the organization’s history. It happened again on Saturday at UFC 188 when Fabricio Werdum (20-5-1 MMA, 8-2 UFC) upset Cain Velasquez (13-2 MMA, 11-2 UFC) to start the 18th title reign (with the 14th different fighter) in divisional history. Werdum submitted Velasquez in the third round of the pay-per-view headliner to further establish his legacy as one the sport’s all-time great heavyweights. It was a shocking way to conclude the 11-fight card, which marked the UFC’s second event in Mexico. The crowning of a new UFC heavyweight champion wasn’t the only notable happening at the promotion’s seventh pay-per-view event of the year. Check out 45 post-fight facts about UFC 188
