While a few different fights could contend for “Fight of the Night,” local athlete Dustin Poirier  got the most love from the crowd. The event took place at New Orleans’ Smoothie King Center. The same venue hosts Saturday’s FOX Sports 1-televised event. Headliners Tim Boetsch  (18-8 MMA, 7-5 UFC) and Dan Henderson  (30-13 MMA, 7-7 UFC) had no issue making weight for the night’s main event, nor did heavyweights Matt Mitrione  (9-3 MMA, 9-3 UFC) and Ben Rothwell  (34-9 MMA, 4-3 UFC), who meet in the night’s co-feature
