Earlier this year, one time UFC welterweight Gilbert Smith came up short in his RFA title bout against Chidi Njokuani. In the fallout from that fight, he has changed his game to compensate. “One of the biggest things I took away from that was being able to adapt between rounds,” Smith told MMAWeekly.com. “I came out strong in the first round, but then Chidi was able to find his range and I wasn’t able to get through him with strikes or takedowns.
