Jessica Aguilar WSOF women’s strawweight champion Jessica Aguilar was considered by many to be the number one fighter in her weight class prior to the UFC launching their own women’s 115 pound division. Aguilar now appears to be on her way to an opportunity to prove her point. WSOF announced via a press release that they have released Aguilar (19-4) from her contract to allow her to pursue opportunities worthy of her talent. “We wish Jessica all the best, and hope that she will achieve everything she wants to in her career that is blossoming,” WSOF President Ray Sefo said in the release. “We sat down with Jessica and her manager and we all agreed that she needs to move on to a place where she can compete against the best 115 pound women in the world. “We have an incredible and fast-growing roster of world-class athletes at WSOF, but we do not have the best fighters in this particular women’s weight class, so it was time to shake hands and amicably part ways.” Aguilar recently said that she believes she matches up very well with UFC champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk
