Munoz, a notable “good guy” in a sport often sorely lacking such people, was able to go out on his terms. A proud Filipino-American, Munoz was one of the featured fighters on the UFC’s first card in the Philippines, a country where he’d long been an ambassador for the sport. Going out with a win in front of a screaming crowd while looking forward to more time to spend with his family was likely as good of an exit as Munoz could ask for. But fans of Filipino MMA don’t have to worry about Munoz abandoning the country. He is looking forward to helping the country patch one of the biggest gaps in its MMA game.
