Former Invicta FC atomweight champion Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson (12-4) has signed with the UFC to compete as a strawweight. The news was first reported on Monday’s edition of UFC Tonight . Waterson made her professional mixed martial arts debut in February 2007. She’s competed in several promotions, including Ring of Fire, King of the Cage, Strikeforce and Invicta FC. The 29-year-old defeated The Ultimate Fighter 20’s Jessica Penne at Invicta FC 5 in April 2013 to win the Invicta FC 105-pound title. She defended the belt at Invicta FC 8, defeating Yasuko Tamada by TKO, before losing to Herica Tiburcio at Invicta FC 10 in December.
