Brendan Schaub Joe Rogan told Brendan Schaub that he wanted to see him retire from the sport of MMA, but that retirement is not happening. Instead, Schaub is planning a bold new move for his career, a drop to light heavyweight. Schaub (10-5 MMA, 6-5 UFC) has fought his entire career in the heavyweight division. But, in response to losing four of his last six bouts, Schaub is ready to give it a go in a new weight class. “As far as the fight game goes, I’ve dealt with some injuries as far as my neck, went back into training, it gave me some issues so we decided to take a little more time off,” Schaub said on his “ The Fighter and the Kid ” podcast. “The plan is 205. I will fight in 2015 at 205.” In his last fight, a UFC 181 TKO loss to Travis Browne, Schaub weighed in at 244 pounds.
