RIO DE JANEIRO – From her first slapping leg kick, Amanda Nunes looked like she was taking out the frustrations of a previous loss out on her opponent, Shayna Baszler . Midway into the first round, Baszler (15-10 MMA, 0-2 UFC) could no longer stand after a kick slammed into her knee, giving Nunes (10-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) her first win since a setback against Cat Zingano. The women’s bantamweight bout was part of the main card of today’s UFC Fight Night 62 event at Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 2 and UFC Fight Pass. Nunes earned a TKO at the 1:56 mark of the first round when referee Mario Yamasaki stepped into save Baszler, who grimaced in pain when the kick hit her. Seconds earlier, Baszler was already in trouble after taking several hard left hooks and a front kick to the body in addition to the leg kicks.
